The European resistance to Monsanto and the GMO movement in general got even more support on Friday, when the European Commission stated that 4 more EU countries have opted out of GMO cultivation. Denmark, Malta, Slovenia and Luxemburg now make a total of 19 countries who refuse to allow GMO cultivation within their borders.
Many biotech companies remain unsettled regarding the EU’s allowance of opt outs among it’s contingents. The large number of opt out request suggest that Europe and it’s citizens are in a position to claim their stake in their own land and not allow infectious GMO activity to persist, all while the United States turns a blind eye as lobbyist money continues to flow. 19 countries just can’t be wrong.
