Monsanto Accused of Ghostwriting Roundup Cancer Documents

Monsanto is embroiled in a bitter lawsuit with farmers, among many, who claim that their exposure to Roundup’s glyphosate chemical caused their non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. During a court proceeding, it came to light that Monsanto potentially authored their own studies and simply had scientists sign the studies. The studies were centered around whether or not to include glyphosate as a carcinogen. According to Monsanto ghostwriters, glyphosate should not be considered a cause of cancer.

Go figure.

Essentially, a PR piece was accepted by the EPA as a standard, reliable study. No joke.

According to Yahoo!

Among the documents unsealed Tuesday was a February 2015 internal e-mail exchange at the company about how to contain costs for a research paper. The plaintiff lawyers cited it to support their claim that the EPA report is unreliable, unlike a report by an international agency that classified glyphosate as a probable carcinogen.

Monsanto Loses Bid to Keep Glyphosate Off List of Carcinogens

“A less expensive/more palatable approach” is to rely on experts only for some areas of contention, while “we ghost-write the Exposure Tox & Genetox sections,” one Monsanto employee wrote to another.  “…but we would be keeping the cost down by us doing the writing and they would just edit & sign their names so to speak,” according to the e-mail, which goes to on say that’s how Monsanto handled the 2000 study.

The case is In re: Roundup Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2741, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California (San Francisco). According to Monsanto writers, their company is doing great and everyone adores them. Not really, but maybe so….

Never Buy Fruit With This Label On It

The PLU code is what stores use to scan items for pricing at the register. It is also a way to file products. And further than that, it is a great way to figure out if you are buying organic produce or GMO produce.

Here’s how it works:

1. A four-digit code beginning with a 3 or a 4 means the produce is probably conventionally grown. The last digits of the code represent the kind of the fruit or vegetable you are buying. For example, bananas are always labeled with the code of 4011.

2. If there are five numbers, and the first is “8?, then the product is genetically modified. The label on genetically modified banana (GE-genetically engineered of GMO) would contain the numbers 84011.

3. A five-digit number that starts with a 9 means the item is organic. Organic bananas are labeled with 94011.

More and more fruits and vegetables are going the way of Monsanto. With the United States propping the massive GMO company up, the sky is the limit for them. We must be more vigilant when it comes to finding local growers who haven’t already been bullied into switching over to GMO. Our children’s futures depend on it.

The more we understand labels, the healthier we can opt to feed ourselves and our families. Details matter. Knowledge is key. Big Food is constantly fighting honest labeling legislation and for good reason: they stand to lose a lot. The more educated the masses become regarding their food’s ingredients, the more likely it is that people will opt to buy healthier, non-GMO versions. Big Food prefers to keep everyone in the dark so they can continue to funnel the masses down unhealthy roads.

Learn to read labels and sign petitions that support fair labeling practices. Stay aware and stay involved in your community. Maybe one day reading a label won’t be as complicated as the above illustration and video make it out to be.

Argentina Pushes To Ban GMO Seeds, Glyphosate

Argentinian Federal Prosecutor Fabián Canda has filed a request to the highest court in Argentina asking the country to prohibit any sales of GMO seeds inside of Argentinian borders. These are seeds which are able to bypass pesticides, such as Round Up, which is also produced by the same company. The basis of the request is that Glyphosate is shown to be a carcinogen.

Canda has also asked for a ban on aerial spraying of glyphosate herbicides and a 5 km no-spray zone surrounding population centers, schools, villages, farm houses, rivers, lakes and groundwater wells.

Canda stated, “scientific studies and technical reports carried out at the local and international level, including reports produced by control bodies such as the Auditor General’s Office and the Ombudsman’s Office.” He went on, “these reports and the references in them reveal at least the probable harm being caused by glyphosate-based herbicides” and to ignore them “is to assume a position that contradicts the jurisprudence of the Federal Court on Environmental Matters, regarding the application of the precautionary principle by Argentinian judges.”

The United States is one of the loosest countries on earth when it comes to GMOs.

Obama Administration Silences Scientist Who Speaks Truth About GMO

This is the worst thing you will read all day (but you should read it). It is no secret that Government agencies don’t enjoy, nor harbor, the presence of those who work against their dogma; a dogma typically stout with crony backdoor deals which prove very profitable. Government agencies are merely businesses which server to protect their own interest.

The case of Jonathan Lundgren, a Scientist who wrote an article for the scientific journal Naturwissenschaften, is just such a perfectly built example. His article had to do with clothianidin, a neonicotinoid, harming monarch butterflies. Neonicotinoids already have a rather salaciously bad rap, having been featured in several documentaries as the main cause of our bee population dwindling away. In this case, Lundrgren was focusing mostly on the butterflies.

Lundgren’s life would change drastically when he was scheduled by the National Academy of Sciences to give a speech on the ill-effects of GMO crops. A series of backlash events by the USDA have called into question the ability for any scientist to legitimately study the effects of GMOs and other controversial matters. If the Obama administration shuts down these scientists, it radically changes the thoroughfare of evolved information.

Lundgren’s full story is published in the Atlantic and it is a frightening ready. I suggest everyone read it (click here).

Here is an excerpt.

For anyone who cares about scientific integrity, or about agricultural practices and policies with profound consequences for everyday life, it’s a disturbing allegation. The potential ramifications extend beyond Lundgren to other scientists who might be discouraged from studying important but politically contentious topics.

Keeping in mind, this is published in The Atlantic, which by all standards is considered a mainstream news source. The fact that this transgression by the Obama Administration is so vile and so obvious, it has received even mainstream media attention over the matter, should tell you a lot.

Our food supply is our lifeblood. Government agencies silencing those scientist attempting to shed light on their transgressions is a terrifying thought. It is my hope that this type of information is shared more liberally, that more people understand what is happening.

The FDA Approved GMO Salmon

Yep, this is actually happening. GMO Salmon is now approved by the FDA. So go ahead folks, eat your science lab fishy with that peaceful safe and secure feeling you eat regular fish that was made by nature with. Because that just makes all the sense in the world.

The FDA Approves AquAdvantage Salmon.

The FDA has approved AquaBounty Technologies’ application for AquAdvantage Salmon, an Atlantic salmon that reaches market size more quickly than non-GE farm-raised Atlantic salmon. The FDA regulates GE animals under the new animal drug provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, because the recombinant DNA (rDNA) construct introduced into the animal meets the definition of a drug. In this case, the rDNA construct introduces a trait that makes the AquAdvantage Salmon grow faster.

“The FDA has thoroughly analyzed and evaluated the data and information submitted by AquaBounty Technologies regarding AquAdvantage Salmon and determined that they have met the regulatory requirements for approval, including that food from the fish is safe to eat,” said Bernadette Dunham, D.V.M., Ph.D., director of the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine.

The CEO of AquaBounty, Ronald L. Stotish, says it’s a “game changer.”

So what does this mean? It means corporations and labs are inventing your food, both vegetables and actual paraphyletic species. Of course, you can’t avoid eating it by reading the label, but you can avoid farmed salmon to avoid ingesting it. So buying wild salmon means you aren’t. Or buy farmed “game changer laboratory invented” salmon. Your choice. I think we all know the choice we plan to make.

The FDA is clearly got it’s hand in someone’s pocket, which is disturbing at the highest of levels. This is our food supply. I can’t see how they can pitch the “GMOs save the world” with this one, as I doubt highly they are producing this same for philanthropic purposes in Africa.

Monsanto Loses All Over World, But Could Still Be Protect In US.

“Monsanto has spent over $100 million dollars to defeat GMO labeling.”

Monsanto is laying off over 2000 employees, their revenue is way down, and they’ve had their spirit crushed all over the globe. Well, mostly over the globe. The United States remains a safe harbor for the seed modification company which has aspirations of a global takeover. With House Bill 1599 in progress, Monsanto still can come out ahead even in the face of all this global adversity if the bill is to become a law. And the fact is, that’s a reality we may likely be looking at.

The bill takes away the people’s ability to know what’s in their food, it also tramples on state’s rights. GMO foods will be looked at as just as safe as it’s non-gmo competitor (seriously). The FDA would not be able to object to any of this.

So what’s in your food? Do you know? Check out this video for further insights into a very important subject matter.

4 More EU Countries Opt Out Of GMO

The European resistance to Monsanto and the GMO movement in general got even more support on Friday, when the European Commission stated that 4 more EU countries have opted out of GMO cultivation. Denmark, Malta, Slovenia and Luxemburg now make a total of 19 countries who refuse to allow GMO cultivation within their borders.

Many biotech companies remain unsettled regarding the EU’s allowance of opt outs among it’s contingents. The large number of opt out request suggest that Europe and it’s citizens are in a position to claim their stake in their own land and not allow infectious GMO activity to persist, all while the United States turns a blind eye as lobbyist money continues to flow. 19 countries just can’t be wrong.
